How much is the care?
Care provided through our staff is included in the monthly fee. Which may include assistance with showers, dressing, medication, etc. Although most care service are included there may be additional costs for some services.
Are there extra costs?
The extra costs would be from buying medications, incontinence supplies, meal supplements such as ensure, beauty shop fees, just to name a few. You could purchase these items or we could order the supplies and add the cost to the monthly statement.

Do residents get outside?
We have scenic rides 3 times a week. Weather permitting they will go on a weekly walks with the activity staff. Additionally, we also have a garden on the third floor, which residents of both floors are welcome to visit in addition to scheduled patio activities.
Does someone help residents to eat?
Yes. Our dining room staff also prepares soft, liquid or pureed diets for any resident who's doctor requests it. Residents are assisted on a one on one basis as needed.
Do you have problems with residents wandering?
Residents will wander from time to time, but within our specially designed environment it does not constitute a problem. We have a resident monitoring system - The Vigil System. The Vigil System monitors residents when they are in their apartments (at night), close to an exit, or in their restroom. The system will contact staff, as residents might need assistance and not be able to relay their need.
Doctor appointments?
When appointments are set up, our staff can escort residents to the appointment, if the family is not available to do so. The doctor's office will fax over any changes to our Special Care Coordinator or Director of Health Services. A fee may be applied for staff escorts that occur outside our established transportation schedule. We also have referrals for in house visits (Physicians, Podiatrists, Dentists).
Do the roommates get along?
Residents are placed together on the basis of their level of cognitively and what they have in common. We have found that through asking what their favorite pastimes, activities and social abilities were, before becoming ill, seems to be the best way to match roommates. We have has success with this approach as this may result in the residents becoming friends. We have found that some residents benefit from this connection with another human being.
What type of activities do we have?
The activities are based on the era that residents were born in such as reminiscing, word games, trivia, cards, bingo, cooking class and others. We also do special one on one activity with residents for those who cannot connect with the group activities.
Is there a nurse staff?
Yes, a licensed nurse serves as our Director of Health Services. She is responsible for guiding our core staff in meeting resident care needs within our community.
